About Me

50-something dork in KC,MO || Geeked to art, mixed mediums, art journaling, paper, ephemera, tarot cards, assemblage, collage, maps, travelogues, calligraphy, colors, food, gardens, speculative fiction, comics, noir, Blade Runner, bears and beards, The Hanged Man, ravens and crows, and being better.

I started a ‘Year of Yes’ a while back, walking right up to those fears that keep us all from doing things that pique our interests, and walked right through that door. I have never been better for it and my year has turned into “My Years of Yes”. It has been the most rewarding thing for me finding my authentic self and translates into my artistic pursuits at every turn. I highly recommend trying it.

It’s #inktober so why not use this month To get serious about my first tattoo. Odin’s two ravens, Hugin and Munin, also known as Thought and Memory, over a corona symbolizing the ouroboros. Now to find the right artist.

This crew invited me along to see an hour of @nickofferman just being amazing on stage. Funny, truthful, wry, tongue-in-cheek irreverence, with some great songs and story-telling throughout.

I had more than a touch of nasal surgery last Friday to help with some chronic sinus infections, and the recovery has hit me far harder than I expected, though with two heavy-flow tampons still stuffed up in my head, I shouldn’t be too surprised. My nights are rough but I’m so thankful that I can be a terrible, whiny patient and @bigdaddy_kc and @barefootguy1966 continue to want to nurse me back to health. The sliver of sunrise this morning as I was getting ready for work was just enough to finally feel like I wanted a selfie, even though I still feel like Ive been punched in the face, a lot. #nursesmaketheworstpatients #schnozz #nasalrotorootering
